Disseny, 2019

This work was commissioned by David Bestué for a collective public art project located at Plaça de Can Colom, l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, in 2019.

As there was no sign indicating the name of the square, I asked several designers to make one by following municipal code. All the resulting layouts were then overlaid and carved on a single slab, highlighting the individual variations of each version, as well as the underlying norm.

The piece was finally sought in February of 2021, after the Council declined the offer made to have it permanently installed at the plaza. By that time and without notice, they had already placed a conventional sign next to it.

Special thanks to Pense Joan Febrer and Alex Nogueras.
